This series includes three training evenings in the run up to the British Sprint Orienteering Championships and British Sprint Relays on 27th and 28th June 2026. They are intended to give you hints and tips and the opportunity to practice this exciting orienteering format. We are fortunate in having a previous British Sprints venue here in Milton Keynes (Campbell Park/Springfield) but we will also be looking at the finer details of how to interpret multi-level maps and make fast and accurate route choices which will be required at the British Sprints.
In this first of three sessions, we will be looking at using information from control descriptions, route planning on the move and coping with a chasing start. The session is planned to last about 1-1.5 hours.
We will be using our own club SI kit for this event so please bring your dibber and a control description holder (if you have them). We will have some dibbers to borrow if you don't have one.
The event is free to SMOC members (£2 for non-SMOCies).
Please email Freya if you have any questions and to let us know you are coming so that we can ensure we have enough maps for everyone.
