SMOC is a friendly club and has about 100 members. Our membership base extends throughout Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. SMOC is affiliated to the East Anglian Orienteering Association (EAOA), the regional body which co-ordinates the sport in East Anglia and the British Orienteering, the national body, which co-ordinates activities within the UK and represents the sport on the world stage.
MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS
British Orienteering have introduced a new Membership scheme over the past few months. There are now two levels of Membership within British Orienteering called Local and National. To determine which level of membership you require you need to consider how far you travel to compete, the type of competitions you want to take part in and how frequently you orienteer. Any orienteer who competes in more than three events will begin to save money by joining British Orienteering, as members receive a discounted entry at events. Which events you receive a discount at will be determined by your level of membership. You can choose to join British Orienteering as a senior (21 or over), junior (20 or under), or as a family (parents/guardians of young persons under 25).
