Controllers Comments |
This was Robert’s first attempt at planning courses and I think he made a pretty good stab at it. I particularly liked the multiple controls in the tricky south east part of the map. Finishing times were within expectations with the short course lengths reflecting the terrain. The Orange/Junior course was at the top end of technical difficulty. It was excellent for the Williams boys to hold a family head to head but tough on younger runners. With this in mind Robert introduced a yellow course for the first time which was such a hit with the Price sisters that they did it twice. Actually, we had an SI programming error [memo: never input courses at 10:00pm on Saturday night!] and they dragged Robert round again to check it out. One of the main points of holding our own event was to get some practice with the SI kit ahead of the club’s Badge event in January. That mission was successfully accomplished. John Shaw |
