Welcome back to orienteering! This FREE event for SMOC members only will be run under British Orienteering's COVID-19 guidelines, observing social distancing and with extra safety precautions. The event will be pre-entry only, with start times allocated to all competitors. To try to avoid the public as much as possible, we'll also be starting earlier than usual, with starts available between 9am and 11am.

This event is pre-entry only. It will be run free of charge, and is open only to current members of SMOC. To enter, please email Ros, giving the following information:

Parking will be at the Cricket Pavilion car park, MK9 4AD. If this is full, alternative car parks (Canalside and Avebury/Overgate roundabout) can also be used.
Start times will be between 9am and 11am. Courses close at midday. As always, don't forget to download, even if you retire.
Shortish: approx 3 km. Moderately difficult. No road crossings, so suitable for orienteers of all ages.
Longish: approx 6 km. The same but longer. Moderately difficult. No road crossings, so suitable for orienteers of all ages.
Electronic (SI) controls will be used, with mini kites. Punching start. Pcards (the flat, credit-card size SI cards) will be available to borrow for those who don't have their own dibbers.
Maps: A4 maps at 1:5000 scale. The map for the longer course will be double sided.
There are no toilets at this event. Nearest public loos are at Willen Lake, 10-15 minutes' walk away.
Dog rules: well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please keep them on leads at all times.
Please ensure you follow the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct. In particular, you must observe social distancing, both from other orienteers and the general public. Please take extra care to be courteous to members of the public at all times.
To minimise infection risk, we won't be providing print-outs with your split times at the event. We will, however, aim to get everyone's splits up online as fast as possible after the event.
